About Basecamp Adventure Co.

Basecamp Adventure Co. was built on the belief that the outdoors can change how we see ourselves. Not because the mountains are magical, but because they ask us to do hard things. Every climb, every mile, every moment of uncertainty becomes an opportunity to discover you're capable of more than you thought.

More Than Miles

Basecamp is about more than reaching the destination. Whether we're strength training for a first backpacking trip or hiking toward an alpine lake, the goal is to help you discover what you're capable of along the way.

The mountains have a way of teaching us that courage often comes before confidence. If you leave with new skills, greater confidence in the outdoors, and the excitement to plan your next adventure on your own, then Basecamp has done exactly what it was created to do.

Meet Your Guide

Hi, I’m Alyssa.

I'm a backpacking guide, personal trainer, and lifelong Pacific Northwest adventurer. I started Basecamp Adventure Co. to bring together two things that changed my life: strength training and time outside.

Growing up with scoliosis, I lived with constant back pain and couldn't participate in PE during high school. After major back surgery as a teenager, hiking eventually became a way for me to experience things I hadn't thought my body could do. Strength training came later and helped me become pain-free, get stronger, and take those adventures even farther.

Over time, I realized my work as a trainer and my love for the backcountry belonged together. Basecamp grew from that idea: helping people build the strength, skills, and experience to take on bigger adventures outside.
